Liverpool and Newcastle have been reported to have discussed the possibility of signing with Anthony Gordon.
Currently, Newcastle are struggling to fulfill the requirements of the top-flight profit and sustainability rules (PSR).
Although the managerial team at Newcastle has been busy in the transfer market in the recent days trying to sign several players, the club has not been able to experience major outflow.
In fact, a newly released report from The Mail suggested that Newcastle is interested in selling a major asset such as Gordon.
It is because Mirror Football knows that Newcastle tried to make a deal with Liverpool for Gordon, but the discussions ended when Liverpool proposed that Quansah would not join Magpies.

Liverpool are still keen on Gordon but do not want to let Quansah go after he came through for the club last season.
They will not involve him in any swap deal whereby they exchange him for some other people.
But, due to their opinions on Quansah who they believe is an upcoming English talent, Liverpool backed off from signing after negotiations with Newcastle.
Liverpool have said that there are talks underway for Gordon, but the youngster is content on transfer and he is formerly a Liverpool fan when he was a boy.
He has stated that he enjoys working with Eddie Howe and his concentration is on the Newcastle United.
Meanwhile French giants Paris Saint-Germain are also reported to be interested in Gordon.
He has played for the England national team in the ongoing Euro 2024 and had a good initial season at Newcastle.
He earned Newcastle’s Player of the year last season where he scored 11 league goals in addition to 10 assists in 35 games.
For the likes of Gordon, Newcastle has to figure out how the best outlet this financial uncertainty while ensuring the aspect of retaining pivotal players is not compromised.

This puts the club under pressure to find ways of ensuring compliance with PSR rules without compromising its team.
In this aspect, they need to work hard to ensure they do not incur penalties within the stipulated time of June 30 to remain strong for the Premier League.
This is evident from Liverpool’s decision to retain Quansah – an incidence that cements their desire to develop young talent.
