Liverpool made a good week even better as Jurgen Klopp’s side picked up a second win on the bounce with a 2-0 scoreline away at Newcastle United.

It was a bright start by Liverpool to the game between the two top four hopefuls and the visitors had early goals to show for their dominance.

Liverpool frontman Darwin Nunez was found by an excellent pass from Trent Alexander-Arnold and Nunez was clinical in his finishing to find the back of the net and make it 1-0 for his side.
New boy Cody Gakpo scored for a second game in succession with the Dutch winger teed up by Mohamed Salah’s brilliant first time lobbed pass.
The home side Newcastle were dealt a hammer blow following the two goals from Liverpool with the Magpies No.1 Nick Pope shown the red card for handling the ball outside the box after Alisson launched a counter-attack to Salah.
Newcastle looked to reduce the deficit in the second period despite being reduced to 10 men as Alexander Isak and Fabian Schar went close with their efforts.
Nunez had a low shot tipped around the post by Dubravka who had come off the bench to feature between the sticks after Pope’s sending off.
Liverpool had Diogo Jota, Roberto Firmino, Harvey Elliott and James Milner coming into the action from the bench and Jota had a flurry of chances to score but all went to waste.
Alisson made a late save to deny Callum Wilson while Jota had an effort cleared off the line in the final moments of the game which saw Liverpool clinch the three points.
