Nottingham Forest join Fulham in chase for Liverpool right-back Neco Williams

Nottingham Forest have joined Fulham in the chase for Liverpool right-back Neco Williams’s signature with a £15 million price tag slapped on his head.

The exit door at Anfield is wide open for Williams who is set to be deemed surplus to requirements by Liverpool and Jurgen Klopp after the recruitment of the 18-year-old Calvin Ramsay from Aberdeen.

Ramsay, who put out a stellar run of showings last term in Scotland’s top flight, is tipped to be the back-up to Trent Alexander-Arnold in the right-back role at Liverpool when the new season gets underway.

According to The Sun, Williams is now wanted by Nottingham Forest with the club joining the likes of Fulham and Southampton in the widely-contested race for the Wales international.

Williams turned out for Fulham in a season-long loan spell last season and had proven to be an important name on the team sheet for the Cottagers in their promotional campaign which has led to Marco Silva eyeing up a reunion with him.
