Premier League new boys Nottingham Forest are reportedly working to complete a deal to sign Liverpool right-back Neco Williams by the end of this week.
According to a report from The Athletic, Williams could be set for his unveiling as a Nottingham Forest player within the week as the newly-promoted outfit looks to make a second and improved offer for the Reds defensive talent.
Forest’s opening bid, believed to be £11 million plus add-ons, was quick to be turned down by the Liverpool camp which is holding out for a £15 million asking price to sanction the exit of the 21-year-old Wales international this summer.
Williams emerged as a standout performer during his stint away from Anfield in the second half of the 2021-22 season with the Welshman joining Fulham on loan and helping the Craven Cottage side achieve promotion to the top flight.
Should Forest prize away Williams, Steve Cooper’s side would surely be delighted to sign one of the most promising talents in the Premier League who has also been on the wishlists of Southampton and Fulham.
