Liverpool’s outgoing sporting director Michael Edwards is reportedly hoping to land Leeds United winger Raphinha as his final transfer for Jurgen Klopp’s Merseyside men.

Edwards will be leaving the Anfield camp come the summer of 2022 with the famed executive who has been immense in his dealings in the market looking for a new challenge elsewhere, according to the rumour mill.

Reports from The Daily Mirror, however, have claimed that Leeds United first-team star Raphinha will be the priority name on the wishlist for Edwards ahead of the forthcoming January transfer window.

With Jurgen Klopp on the lookout for options to add to his attacking ranks and provide cover for the likes of Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane, the 24-year-old Raphinha is understood to be a top target on the back of his stellar form in the Premier League.

Salah’s unresolved future in the Reds shirt beyond next summer adds to the growing speculation that Liverpool will step up their chase for Raphinha’s signature with the Brazil international earning plaudits for his consistent displays at Elland Road.
