Ozan Kabak’s price-tag drop might interest Liverpool

Schalke’s asking price for Ozan Kabak has been dropped by €10 million, with the Bundesliga side now only demanding €25 million to part ways with the 20-year-old centre-back amid interest from Liverpool FC and AC Milan.

The Turkish international has been a regular for the German club since the start of the season and has been tipped to seal a move away from them in the forthcoming winter transfer window due to Schalke’s financial difficulties forcing them to offload one of their best first-team players.

With Jurgen Klopp’s side reportedly leading the race to sign Kabak, a €10 million drop in the defender’s price-tag will be a major incentive for the Reds to go ahead on firming their interest in the player.

Reports from Italian outlet Calcio Mercato claim that Liverpool FC have even gotten into initial discussions with Kabak’s representatives over the player’s proposed move to Anfield and that the transfer could be materialised as early as January.

Joel Matip recently made a return to first-team football on Sunday against Manchester City after a month on the sidelines due to injury, and whether this would mean that Klopp does not want to sign any more centre-backs for his squad is uncertain as of now, but Kabak’s move to Liverpool FC on a bargain price deal will surely interest the Reds boss.
