According to the Evening Standard, French giants Paris Saint-Germain have entered the race to sign Liverpool key transfer target Cheick Doucoure this summer.
The midfielder had a standout debut season with Palace after his £21 million transfer from Lens last summer, making the second-highest number of interceptions in the Premier League.
After being named Crystal Palace’s Player of the Year, the 23-year-old might make a swift return to French football’s top tier, as PSG are interested in signing him.
However, they will face competition from Liverpool, who are also in pursuit of midfield reinforcements, despite already securing Alexis Mac Allister and Dominik Szoboszlai.
Liverpool are anticipated to sign at least one more midfielder, as they expect to lose Jordan Henderson and Fabinho to the Saudi Pro League.

PSG secured the signing of Manuel Ugarte from Sporting CP earlier this summer, beating Chelsea in the process. They are now confident in their pursuit of Doucoure, potentially edging out another English club for his signature.
Doucoure would be PSG’s eighth signing of this summer as they prepare for life under new manager Luis Enrique.
The club has been active in the transfer window, having already signed Manuel Ugarte, Lee Kang-in, Lucas Hernandez, and Xavi Simons for a combined €133 million. Additionally, Cher Ndour, Marco Asensio, and Milan Skriniar have joined as free agents.
PSG are set to begin their pre-season tour with a home match against Le Havre before heading to Japan for friendly games against Al-Nassr, Cerezo Osaka, and Inter Milan.
Meanwhile, the Reds will continue to monitor the situation and grab an upper hand in the race if their current midfielders prefer to join the middle eastern clubs.
