Paris Saint-Germain president Nasser Al-Khelaifi has delivered a major blow to Liverpool FC’s rumored pursuit of Kylian Mbappe by stating that the Ligue 1 outfit “are never going to sell” the attacking duo of Mbappe and Neymar.
It is believed that Jurgen Klopp fancies the chances of securing Mbappe’s signature next summer. The world-class French international is rated highly by the Liverpool FC boss, according to reports. Klopp sees the 21-year old forward as a critical component of a Liverpool FC side that could aim for domestic as well as European domination in the coming seasons.
However, it is understood that Mbappe is of extreme value to PSG and the club’s future plans. With the Frenchman’s current deal with the Paris-based side running until 2022, Al-Khelaifi voiced his intention of offering a handsome offer to the youngster to extend his stay at the French club.
“We want them to extend, yes of course. We are never going to sell them. They will stay, I’m sure.”
Since his move to PSG in 2017, Mbappe has formed a lethal attacking partnership with Neymar. This season, the duo would be aiming to taste Champions League glory, having reached the semi-final of the competition following a 2-1 victory over Atalanta.
