Real Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti has played down his side’s interest in signing Jude Bellingham who is rumoured to be a top name on Liverpool’s wishlist over the coming transfer windows.
The European champions Real had been considered as one of the contenders for Bellingham’s signature with the midfield talent all but certain to leave Borussia Dortmund at the end of the season.
His value skyrocketed in Qatar on the back of a terrific campaign at the 2022 FIFA World Cup as Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool harbour hopes of bringing him to Anfield next summer to reinforce their midfield ranks.
Liverpool, however, are expected to be battled in their pursuit of the England international Bellingham with the likes of Manchester City and Real Madrid also rumoured to be in the fray for the teenage sensation.
Real gaffer Ancelotti, while speaking to reporters as quoted by a report from The Mirror, voiced praise for Bellingham’s ability but hinted that the La Liga side were not in the running for his signature.
“There are a lot of youngsters, like Enzo [Fernandez], and a lot of midfielders who are coming through, some of them Spanish.
“Bellingham is one of them, but I’ll stick with my midfielders, who are very good, especially the youngsters, like Valverde, Camavinga and Tchouameni. We have a lot of young players.”
