The defending European champions Liverpool will make the trip to Salzburg to book their place in to the last 16 of the competition getting out of their Group E.
Liverpool has 10 points while Napoli and Salzburg have 9 and 7 respectively and none of these three teams has so far confirmed to qualify for the knockout stages, and all of them will be looking for a positive result but only two will make the cut.
The Serie A side Napoli requires a win or a draw against Genk to secure qualification, whereas Liverpool just needs to avoid a loss. However, a victory for the home side RB Salzburg would see them advance over the Reds due to the head-to-head rule, and the Austrian club is going to give it their all at their home ground this Tuesday night to try and topple the Champions League holders.
Brazilian defensive midfielder Fabinho is out for the entire month and is likely to return only after the turn of the year. The 25-year-old will probably be the Reds’ most crucial miss in this tricky game.
Croatian center-back Dejan Lovren was subbed off during the weekend’s Premier League game against Bournemouth, and although the injury is not expected to be severe, it is highly unlikely that the 30-year-old features in the game against Salzburg. Klopp will be happy because the midfield pack of Adam Lallana, Naby Keita, Gini Wijnaldum and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain are fit and all four are in contention to start.
Liverpool predicted XI vs Salzburg:Â Alisson Becker; Trent Alexander-Arnold, Joe Gomez, Virgil van Dijk, Andy Robertson; Naby Keita, Jordan Henderson, Georginio Wijnaldum; Mohamed Salah, Roberto Firmino, Sadio Mane
