Latest reports from The Sun are claiming that Liverpool FC will consider making a move for Renato Sanches should current midfield regular Gini Wijnaldum leave the Anfield giants next summer.
Wijnaldum’s current deal runs out in less than six months, and with the Holland international not having signed on extended terms with Jurgen Klopp’s side for now, speculation is rife that the 29-year-old could move onto greener pastures at the expiry of his expiring contract.
Klopp’s efforts to tie down Wijnaldum to a long-term stay at Anfield is believed to bear no fruits considering the latest developments around the Premier League holders, which reports claim could be a major factor behind the Reds’ rumoured interest in signing the 23-year-old Sanches from French outfit LOSC Lille.
The Portugal international had failed to make any sort of impact at Bayern Munich following his much-touted move to the Bundesliga giants four summers back, and a subsequent loan spell at Swansea City failed to pay off for the highly-rated midfielder, leading to Bayern offloading him to Lille last year.
However, Sanches has recaptured his previous streak of great showings while turning out for the Ligue 1 side and could convince Klopp to make a big-money move for him should Wijnaldum choose to run out his contract with Liverpool FC.
