English starlet Rhian Brewster could be a part of Jurgen Klopp’s first-team squad at Liverpool FC come next season. The 20-year old striker has enjoyed a productive loan spell away from Anfield at Championship outfit Swansea City.
Brewster had joined Swansea City in January earlier this year on a short-term loan until the end of the season. The Liverpool FC loanee has had a brilliant run in front of goal, finding the back of the net ten times in 20 league appearances. He played a crucial part in a great campaign for the Swans that ended with a play-off defeat by Brentford.
However, upon returning back to his parent club, there is a great deal of uncertainty regarding the striker’s future. Swansea City have indicated their desire of securing another loan deal for Brewster this summer. The Championship side’s manager Steve Cooper has voiced his admiration for the youngster and wants to extend his stay at the Liberty Stadium.
Liverpool FC boss Jurgen Klopp too is known to be fond of the 20-year old’s attacking exploits on the pitch. With the Merseyside club tipped not to make any major signings this summer, Brewster could play a part in the first-team squad of the Reds next season.
Belgian international Divock Origi is currently the backup striker at Liverpool FC. However, Brewster could rival Origi for a spot on the bench judging by the youngster’s recent run of form. Moreover, the England U-21 international would be given frequent outings on the pitch by Klopp in domestic cup ties.
But there is a possibility of the Reds manager sanctioning yet another loan deal for Brewster. The German coach feels that the 20-year old forward could develop further given greater first-team involvement, something that may not be possible at Liverpool FC the following season.
During his short stint at the Liberty Stadium, Brewster has come to be loved by the club’s supporters. The striker has been an influential presence for Steve Cooper’s side on the pitch, a major reason why the English coach wants to bring Brewster for another spell with the Swans.
