Rhys Williams joined Championship outfit Swansea City on loan after signing a new long-term Liverpool deal in the final hours of this summer window on Tuesday.
The 20-year-old central defender had been eyed up by Swansea on deadline day and Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp was open to letting Williams leave Anfield for the 2021-22 campaign as the player eyes regular football during his loan stint.

Williams links up for his new side after agreeing on extended terms on Merseyside with Liverpool on a long-term contract extension following his breakout season last time around in the colours of Liverpool, confirmed a statement on the club’s official website.
He has crucial to an injury-hit Reds side securing a top-four finish in the Premier League campaign last season with Williams forming a solid pairing at the back with another surprise Anfield hero in Nat Phillips who too signed a new deal on deadline day.
Phillips had his future at the club subject to much speculation over the course of this summer’s transfer window but the centre-back has been retained by Liverpool and offered improved terms.
