Manchester United great Rio Ferdinand believes Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool FC side can claim a top-four finish this season following their upsurge in domestic form of late,
The Merseyside Reds clinched an all-important win over Arsenal on Saturday night in North London in what was a superb showing from the under-fire reigning champions of the land.
With Klopp’s men sitting just two points adrift of fourth-placed Chelsea in the Premier League table, Ferdinand says he can see the Reds continue their rich vein of form in what remains of the top-flight campaign.
‘I think Liverpool are going to get in there now. The result they got at the weekend, the performance and the confidence that will give that team,’ said Ferdinand to BT Sport.
‘Fabinho back as well is a huge boost. Liverpool with how they’ve been in the last two seasons they have that know-how, that nous to go and put a run of results together.
‘Out of Chelsea, Leicester, Liverpool and Spurs I think Liverpool is the one who could go on a six, seven game run. I’ve got a sneaky feeling they will. I hope not if I’m being honest.’
Liverpool FC will take a short break from domestic priorities in the coming days as the Reds make the travels to Spain for their UEFA Champions League last-eight meeting against Real Madrid.
Jurgen Klopp’s side would hope to gather a good result from their away fixture before playing hosts to the La Liga giants in the return leg next week.
