Rivaldo makes predictions on Luiz Diaz involvement in the UCL final

After defeating Villarreal in the semi-final, the Reds qualified for their 10th European Cup final, and Reds fans believe that they can stop the Los Blancos to grab the headlines after the finals.

Liverpool won the contest 5-2 on aggregate after a 3-2 victory in the second leg against a defensively solid Villareal side.

Liverpool will face Real Madrid in the final, which will be held on May 28 at the Stade de France in Paris.

On the flip side, the La Liga giants defeated Manchester City to advance to the final, where they will face Liverpool.

Diaz came off the bench in the win in Spain and made a significant impact on the Reds’ victory, prompting many to think that he is deserving of a starting spot in Paris.

But the Brazilian World Cup winner believes that the South American forward won’t make the start in Klopp’s first XI at the Stade de France.

Rivaldo explains why he believes Klopp’s other attacking options mean Diaz will not start in the Paris final at the end of the month, but a lot of us people believe he is deserving of a starting place in the French capital in his interview with MARCA.

“Luis Díaz had a good impact on the game and changed its course, so he was undoubtedly a crucial piece in Liverpool’s success at Villarreal.”

“As things stand I am not confident that he will start in the final in Paris, there is still a long way to go for this game and players like Diogo Jota or Roberto Firmino will try to prove their worth and challenge the status Diaz’s current status in the squad.”

Though hearing remarks from a former Barcelona player may sound strange, Red fans who have seen the Colombian’s immediate impact in a Liverpool shirt will see no reason why Luiz Diaz should not start.

Diogo Jota’s impact was huge at the start of the season, and Diaz has also established himself as a player capable of playing the whole 90 minutes or coming off the bench.

As the Merseysiders prepare for their toughest test of the season, Klopp’s tactics for making changes to his front three will be scrutinized.
