Robbie Fowler believes Luis Diaz, who joined Liverpool in January, is the man of the moment and should start the Champions League final against Real Madrid in Paris.
On Saturday evening, the Colombian scored against Tottenham Hotspur, with a bit of luck in the form of a deflection allowing the Reds to salvage a point against Antonio Conte’s team.
Since joining Anfield in January, he has six goals in 22 games, and former Red striker Fowler is backing the 24-year-old to help bring European club football’s biggest award back to Merseyside this month.
Former club striker Fowler, held high praise for Liverpool’s new signing in Luiz Diaz and the Englishman believes that the South American has to be in the starting XI against Real Madrid.
“All day long. I think he’s a wonderful player. We said before the game, one of Liverpool’s strengths is certainly him. I know there are other players who are dangerous. But he’s one of those players who gets the ball and he attacks the defender.”
“He brings a bit of panic for defenders because he’s the one that wants to drive at you and cause that panic. Doing that, drags other players over. One-v-one, I don’t think there’s anyone at the minute that’s shown the way that they can deal with him, so that means people are asking for help. Once you do that, then someone on the edge of the box – Thiago or Mane or Salah – becomes free. The more often they can get him causing that havoc, they’re going to get more rewards.”

"That is Liverpool's strongest XI – if it's the Champions League final, this team starts." #awlive [bt]

Having seen the Colombian international hit the ground running in a Liverpool shirt, the forward is very likely to start against Los Blancos to thrust into Madrid’s full-backs.
Liverpool could be the second-best club in the world if they win their 7th Champions league title versus Real Madrid later this month.
Real Madrid’s 13 European cups, only AC Milan have won this competition seven times and the Reds could join them if they grab the silverware at Stade de Paris.
A front three of Diaz, Mane, and Salah has brought a lot of attacking threats to the opposition throughout the campaign and that may well be the case in the finals of the Champions League night.
Jurgen Klopp has made wise decisions in the past and must continue to do so in order to maintain his finest team as fit as possible.
