Injury Update

Roberto Firmino expected to be sidelined for the next couple of weeks with injury

Roberto Firmino’s recent injury scare could sideline Liverpool’s Brazilian attacker for the next couple of weeks meaning the player remains in line to miss the start of the 21-22 Champions League fixture list.

Reports from The Echo suggest that Jurgen Klopp has suffered a setback on the injury front with his star forward’s niggle which led to Klopp withdrawing him just before half time during the draw against Chelsea in Premier League football last time around.

Firmino had been brought off the pitch with Diogo Jota taking his role up top in a game where the spoils were shared between Klopp’s Liverpool and Thomas Tuchel’s Blues.

Speculation is rife that even though Firmino’s injury is not as bad as initially feared, the 29-year-old will have to undergo a few scans on his hamstring ahead of the resume of league action for Liverpool following the ongoing international break.

Firmino has no part to play in the break for his country with Liverpool blocking his entry into the Brazil fold owing to the quarantine issues which he would have faced upon his return to Anfield.
