Jurgen Klopp reported no fresh injury concerns within the first-team ranks at Anfield ahead of the clash against Wolves on Monday night but the Liverpool FC boss confirmed Roberto Firmino’s absence due to a knock.
The Brazillian international forward has been missing in action for the last two outings, according to reports from the official website, and a further assessment of his fitness would be made prior to the Molineux Stadium showdown.
Klopp said that there were no additions to the seemingly never-ending injury list for the Merseyside Reds and that Firmino’s match fitness would be evaluated in the days leading up to the top-flight tie.
“We will see. Bobby was not with us, that means he couldn’t play.
“Now we have a few more days and later on, we have the medical meeting actually after the press conference – sorry! – so they will give me more information about that. We will see, two more days, hopefully.
“[It] looks like in the moment [everybody else is fit].”
Diogo Jota had replaced Firmino in the Liverpool FC frontline last time around as Jurgen Klopp’s men emerged victors over RB Leipzig in the midweek fixture, booking their spot in the quarter-finals of the UEFA Champions League in the process.
