Leicester City and England left-back has claimed that Liverpool defender Andy Robertson is the best full-back in the world ahead of their trip to Anfield on Saturday.
Ben Chilwell has cemented his spot as England’s first-choice left-back ahead of Danny Rose and Luke Shaw but has still sighted Robertson as an inspiration.
“He’s a great player,” England international Chilwell said of Robertson. “He’s been the best full-back in the world, I’d say, and that’s not even an exaggeration.
“I definitely watch his game, as someone who’s a little older, and when Liverpool is on TV, I watch him see what he’s doing and how I can improve.
“Someone like him, who’s getting assists and going forward, he’s one of the best.
“But he’s also very good defensively as well so he’s definitely someone that I look up to at the moment.
Liverpool is looking to extend its winning run in the Premier League which currently stands at 16 games but will wary of the threat posed by the likes of Jamie Vardy and James Maddison. Another thing to watch out for will be Brendan Rodgers’ return to Anfield for the first time since getting the sack in 2015.
Rodgers’ led Liverpool to within a touching distance away from winning the Premier League with an exciting brand of football but came short in the end with Manchester City winning the league that season
