Roberto Firmino has found a backer in attacking partner Sadio Mane amid what has been widefield censure of the former in light of his recent under-fire showings for Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool FC outfit.
Firmino has struggled to keep up with his usual goalscoring standards for the faltering reigning champions of England and calls of dropping the Brazillian international have resonated soundly within the Anfield surroundings.

However, Sadio Mane has rushed to his teammate’s defence while giving an interview to ESPN Brasil as the Senegalese international voiced huge praise for Firmino’s talents by saying that neither he nor Mohammad Salah would be in a position to find the back of the net so very often if not for Si Señor’s ability when on the pitch.
“He deserves more credit than me and Mo, for sure. But it is part of football, always seeing the goals scored.
“But I think without Bobby I don’t see myself or Mo scoring as many goals as we have, to be honest.
“He makes everything easier for us. Brazil is lucky to have Firmino. I always say to Bobby ‘you have to change your nationality and maybe come to Senegal’ – which for me would be a dream!
“I just love him and he is my favourite team-mate.”
Klopp’s side have struggled to replicate their clinical edge when in the final third of the pitch time and again this season and Firmino has had to bear the brunt of a disgruntled Liverpool FC fanbase who have had to see to their team strive to finish even in the top-four.
