Reds forward Sadio Mane has reportedly revealed that he is happy at Liverpool despite rumors linking the Senegalese star away from the Premier League.
Liverpool currently sits third on the Premier League table and are still unbeaten in England’s top flight division. Although, the Merseyside club’s front three have not yet hit the form they showed towards the back end of last season which helped the Reds reach the Champions League final there have been glimpses of the devastating attack slowly finding their feet.
The Anfield faithful were extremely happy to hear that Egyptian superstar Mohamed Salah and Brazilian forward Roberto Firmino pledged their long-term futures to the club. However, there were still some doubts over Senegalese captain Sadio Mane and whether the 26-year-old would be willing to put pen to paper on a new deal or not. Mane’s current contract expires in 2021 so there is no immediate panic but the concern would arise if any of the European heavyweights came in to snap up the pacey forward
Mane is Liverpool’s top scorer at the moment with seven goals this season and has looked sharp in the attacking third. And Liverpool certainly doesn’t want to lose him anytime soon but Mane stated that he is not interested in contract talks.
While speaking to Liverpool Echo, the tricky midfielder revealed that his agent is the one who handles all his contracts while Mane just wants to concentrate on keeping his fans, manager and himself happy, “I am more focused on the games, things like contracts I leave with my agent. I am happy and concentrating on giving my best for my team-mates, my manager and the fans.”
It’s vital that Liverpool offers Mane a new contract because he is an integral part of the club and their attack. If not, Real Madrid or Barcelona would pay a good amount to bring him to the La Liga.
