Five stars of Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool FC side are nominated for the top honours at the Best FIFA Football Awards 2020, reports from the club’s official website, Liverpoolfc.com, confirm.
Mohammad Salah, Sadio Mane, Alisson Becker, and Virgil van Dijk, four first-team names in the Reds squad that helped the Merseysiders clinch Premier League title-winning glory last season, are shortlisted for the FIFA-given awards.
The fifth Liverpool FC player whose name features in the nomination list is this summer’s marquee signing, Thiago Alcantara, whose heroics last season for Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich had pushed the German club towards sealing an unprecedented yet historic treble-winning campaign before signing on a long-term deal with the Reds.

While the quartet of Salah, Mane, Van Dijk and Thiago are nominated for the Best FIFA Men’s Player for 2020, Liverpool FC No.1 Alisson Becker is shortlisted for the Best FIFA Men’s Goalkeeper, an award that he had won last year as well.
The results for the aforementioned top honours will be declared by FIFA on December 11.
