Salah Could Miss More Games For Liverpool Next Year

According to the latest reports, Liverpool superstar Mohamed Salah could miss a few more games for Liverpool in 2022 due to his involvement with national team Egypt in the Olympics. However, thankfully for the Anfield faithful, Reds boss, Jurgen Klopp revealed he would speak to his star winger about his plans to potentially play at next year’s Olympics.

Egypt’s Under-23s booked their berth in Japan by winning the Africa U-23 Cup of Nations at home yesterday. Egypt was quarter-finalists at London 2012 Olympics but the Africans would love to have Salah in their squad for the Olympics next year and Klopp admitted that he would need to talk to his forward with the tournament to be held from July 22 to August 8.

In conversation with reporters, Klopp explained that he got the information only an hour back and he will have to speak to the 28-year-old Egyptian regarding his involvement with the national team squad, “I know this from an hour ago. I have no idea [what will happen], There are some problems I know in the future, this I know from an hour ago that Egypt has qualified for the Olympics. I have to speak to Mo. I don’t know if I do it today, or whenever. Who said they want him? Do they have a manager who said it?”

Salah has already scored six goals and provided three assists in 11 Premier League games so far this term but is currently struggling with an ankle injury that he sustained during Liverpool’s win over Leicester City in early October.

Salah is also a doubt for the game against Crystal Palace due to his recurring ankle issue and Liverpool will assess his condition before the game. The Merseyside giants are currently at the summit of the Premier League table and Salah is vital for them to achieve the title this season so Klopp would prefer to have him back as soon as possible.
