Southampton have joined the race to sign highly-rated Liverpool FC loanee Harry Wilson on a permanent move away from Anfield this summer. Premier League new-boys Leeds United had been previously reported to be interested in signing the Welsh attacker ahead of their first league campaign in England’s top-flight division after a gap of 16 years.
The 23-year old Wilson is tipped to seal a move elsewhere this summer as the Welsh international is unlikely to get much first-team involvement in Jurgen Klopp’s side next season. The presence of star attackers Mohammad Salah and Sadio Mane at the Merseyside club means that Wilson would be used sporadically by Klopp for the Reds.
The Saints are believed to be looking to add attacking reinforcement to their ranks ahead of the upcoming campaign. According to reports, Liverpool FC will seek a ÂŁ15 million bid for Wilson to let the Welshman depart Anfield this summer.
After spending a season-long loan at the Vitality Stadium last season, Wilson had impressed for the Cherries, despite the club suffering relegation at the end of the 2019-20 Premier League season.
