According to Correio da Manha, Sporting CP boss Ruben Amorim will be assessing his job options after the end of the current season amid strong links with Liverpool.
It has been said that he is currently focused on his role at the Jose Alvalade Stadium. Bayer Leverkusen’s Xabi Alonso was the frontrunner for the Reds’ managerial post.
However he has now shocked the fans by revealing that he will stay in Germany beyond this summer.
Hence, the Portuguese giants’ boss Amorim has now emerged as the ideal candidate to replace Jurgen Klopp. At present the 39-year-old is focused on helping Sporting win all the major titles and make it a successful season.
The Portuguese giants have to face Benfica twice in five days. First game in the league and another being in the second leg of the intense semi-final clash in Taca de Portugal.

Sporting are at the top of their league, one point ahead of fierce rivals Benfica (with a game in hand). They also hold a 2-1 lead over the same opponents in the Taca de Portugal competition.
Amorim will be aiming to win both titles and end his term as a success. He wants to go with a bang and consider offers from Liverpool only after the season ends.
It will be difficult for him to resist an offer from an elite club like the English giants. Liverpool are unlikely to face any serious competition from other clubs if they place a concrete offer in the upcoming months.
He is not the only individual being considered by the Fenway Sports Group. Roberto De Zerbi, Julian Nagelsman, Hansi Flick and several other managers are linked by recent reports.

It will be an interesting race to follow and it remains to be seen who will be the best candidate to fill the shoes of the legendary Klopp. Amorim has the pedigree to lead this champion Reds’ side.
It would be too early to speak on this as the manager is yet to decide on his future. Any incoming manager will need support from the fans to maintain the club’s stability in the post-Klopp era.
