Injury Update

Thiago Alcantara to be available for Liverpool selection after international break

Injured midfield star Thiago Alcantara will be in contention for Liverpool FC selection following the end of the forthcoming international break, according to reports from the Mirror.

The Spanish international had been on the sidelines ever since being on the receiving end of a rather harsh challenge from Richarlison during the Reds’ 2-2 draw in last month’s Merseyside derby affair.

Despite not sustaining a major injury blow as earlier feared, Thiago had to spend a significant period of time on the recovery table as Reds boss Jurgen Klopp did not want to risk his summer signing’s match fitness.

With Liverpool FC set to play league leaders Leicester City immediately after the international break, it is reported that the 29-year-old Thiago would be available to make Klopp’s XI for the game against Brendan Rodger’s high-flying Foxes.

Thiago’s return to Anfield from another injury niggle will come as a massive boost to the Merseyside giants and Jurgen Klopp, who has had to deal with recurring injury troubles to his star first-team regulars since the start of the new season.
