Liverpool’s midfield maestro Thiago Alcantara staged a return to full training ahead of Sunday’s FA Cup fixture against Cardiff City at Anfield.
The Spain international had been on the sidelines due to a sprain that kept him out for seven weeks in a major blow on the injury front to Jurgen Klopp and Liverpool.
Reports from The Athletic’s James Pearce, however, suggest that Thiago is back in the Reds fold with the 30-year-old midfielder returning to training as Klopp’s men gear up to take on Championship outfit Cardiff City in the fourth round fixture list of the FA Cup.
Thiago has been subject to extended injury niggles which have curtailed his game time so far this season besides testing positive for COVID-19 last year but Klopp will be glad to have his first-team regular up and running heading into the business end of the campaign.
Liverpool hope to keep pace with the league leaders Manchester City and have the Carabao Cup final to look forward to later this month with Chelsea their opponents for the trophy in the Wembley showdown.
