As the transfer window drew to a conclusion in the last couple of moment, we take a steady approach in ascertaining that players that could have added value what Liverpool represent at the start of the season.
The club may not have made a major signing in the summer but this will be key for the club as Liverpool look forward to better days ahead in the season. Manchester United may have signed Harry Maguire and Aaron-Wan Bissaka with the former recruited for a record fee, coupled with Arsenal signing of Ivorian international Nicolas Pepe from French side Lille.
This is a clear indication to Liverpool and Manager Jürgen Klopp that there are grounds they must cover with the need to sign players to bolster their squad ahead in the season.
On this note, we evaluate the three (3) technical additions that could have been a positive one to that regard.
Wilfred Zaha
The Ivorian International would be a good prospect to the club as he will bolster Liverpool’s attack in the season.
This will put more pressure or rather a positive competition on first-team players in Sadio Mane, Mohamed Salah and Roberto Firmino. It would have added more steel and fear factor to Liverpool’s attack while the bench looks enterprising irrespective of whoever gets the nod to start in games for Liverpool.
If Liverpool can get Zaha into their team, the Premier League title will be of a higher possibility bearing in mind that other top clubs have strengthened their side including Arsenal that seems to be shy in the transfer market in the past years.
Wilfred Ndidi
Liverpool was said to be linked with the Nigerian International Wilfred Ndidi following his performance for Nigeria and Leicester City as we have seen as always. However, there is nothing concrete to have to materialize from that interest and links despite the fact that the young African would be a massive addition to the Anfield side for obvious reasons.
Ndidi has got huge potential and with the fact that he’s still young with an eye in the future for Liverpool. A bid for the player would have benefited the club while if affirms competition for the likes of Naby Keita and Georginio Wijnaldum and Liverpool’s skipper Jordan Henderson.
Samuel Chukwueze-
The Nigerian would have been a good addition to the side even as he continues his development at the club at the age of 20 years.
He was impressive during the AFCON tournament in Egypt fueling speculations that he could be acquired by Jürgen Klopp in the summer transfer all to no avail.
Chukwueze have been compared to Liverpool’s Sadio Mane with some rumors linking the Senegalese players as a real replacement for Real Superstar Gareth Bale. This comparison has got a lot to show the player’s potential as he’s proven already with the good outings he had against Cameroon and South Africa during the AFCON. He promises to add width to the Liverpool attack while also to be a substitute for Mohamed Salah
