Mane Key to Liverpool’s Season
The Senegalese forward was terrific against the host as they couldn’t deal with his performance on the pitch. The way he engineered Liverpool’s attack going down to the opposition area was overwhelming as he provided the assist for Liverpool’s second goal scored by Brazilian forward Roberto Firmino. He also put through Mohamed Salah in transition but the Egyptians strike was saved with the keeper’s leg. Such was his contribution as he improvised for the Reds with the first goal just before the intermission.
Adrian Still Second (Choice) Best
The former West Ham United goalkeeper may have been good although the game. But the way he cheaply gave away the ball that led to Southampton’s consolatory goal was something to forget as it was just a gift to the home team. This shows how Liverpool would still be looking forward to Allison Becker’s return as he begins his recovery from injury. Adrian was poor as he showed indecision in the face of the immediate adversary as his error cut his Liverpool’s win to 2-1 even as we consider how key goal difference may be the defining scheme along with within the title race this season.
Liverpool Maintain Record
The host was undone by the three Liverpool man attack as the trio of Roberto Firinino, Sadio Mane, and Mohamed Salah shone for the Reds in transition. This saw Sadio Mane hit top gear with a superb finish outside the area while putting up a decent shift all throughout the game. The Brazilians scored a special goal as it condemned Southampton’s to defeat despite Adrian howler later in the game. This sees the Reds maintain their perfect run in the EPL the with three points as they climbed to the top of the Premier League table following Manchester City 2-2 draw with Tottenham Hotspur.
