Tottenham Hotspur chief Daniel Levy has been left unimpressed by the Liverpool board for their late push to bring in Luis Diaz in the recently concluded January transfer window.
Diaz became Liverpool’s sole signing of the window with the 25-year-old winger making the move to Anfield from FC Porto as Jurgen Klopp added another quality option to his attacking ranks.
Reports from The Daily Express, however, suggest that Liverpool’s major piece of business in the market has enraged Spurs chief Daniel Levy who had to see his side falter in their longstanding attempts to sign the Columbia international Diaz.
Spurs had been tipped to be the frontrunners in the race to land Diaz’s signature with Liverpool sounding concerns on the pricing front only for the Merseysiders to make an eleventh-hour approach to FC Porto while Diaz was away on international duty.
The North London giants, meanwhile, had to be content with the arrival of Juventus attacker Dejan Kulusevski who moves to the English capital in an 18-month loan agreement to provide Antonio Conte with some much-needed firepower in the final third.
