Tottenham Hotspur are set to intensify their pursuit of Liverpool target Sofyan Amrabat who is in high demand following his explosive run of form at the World Cup in Qatar.
Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool have been heavily linked with signing the 26-year-old midfielder but face competition on the transfer front from Premier League rivals Tottenham Hotspur.
According to a report from La Repubblica, Spurs are looking to pip Liverpool to signing the highly rated Moroccon international with the North London outfit willing to pay in the region of £50 million to land Amrabat’s signature.
The Reds had identified Amrabat, on the back of his dazzling displays in the World Cup with the semi-finalists Morocco, as a viable option to bolster their engine room options heading into the forthcoming January transfer window.
Spurs had come close to completing a deal to sign Amrabat in the summer from Fiorentina only for the Serie A outfit to turn down the loan offer with the club declaring the player key for their future plans.
