Trent Alexander-Arnold says that the Liverpool FC camp remains focused on turning around their recent run of horrible results in domestic football as the Merseysiders gear up to face Tottenham Hotspurs midweek in North London.
The Reds full-back, who himself has endured a fairly devastating slump in form since the turn of the season, spoke to the club’s official website and detailed how the first-team members at Anfield were aware that they only had themselves to blame for their shocking collapse in on-field performances.
“There’s no-one else to blame is ourselves…so it’s down to us to go out there and get wins.
“But we can’t be too critical. We have been looking at it and we’ve been trying to improve without trying to overthink it. We’ve tried not to look into it too much and get ourselves down.
“But we know that there’s things that we need to work on – it’s just about getting back into our rhythm, and get back to what was working best for us the last few years.”
Jurgen Klopp’s side are winless in their last five top-flight outings and crashed out of the FA Cup last Sunday following a 3-2 loss to arch-rivals Manchester United at Old Trafford.
Thursday’s visit to the Tottenham Hotspurs Stadium comes as a crunch clash for the Premier League holders as the recent streak of results has left the Merseysiders hoping to avoid a drop further down the top-flight ladder in the aspirations of securing European football for the upcoming campaign.
