Trent Alexander-Arnold, Fabinho and Alisson Becker returned to the Liverpool fold ahead of Jurgen Klopp’s side locking horns with Manchester City in the EFL Cup contest on Thursday night.
The trio had been given a week’s rest following their exploits in the World Cup as their respective nations, England and Brazil, reached the last eight of the competition in Qatar.
According to a report from The Liverpool Echo, it is claimed that Arnold, Fabinho and Alisson were back at the club’s AXA Training Centre on Monday in the build-up to this week’s clash with Manchester City.
The Reds last turned out in their second and final friendly game in Dubai against Italian champions AC Milan with Liverpool cruising to a 4-1 win as the returning Darwin Nunez came off the bench to score a brace.
Klopp’s men now await back-to-back away trips to City and Aston Villa with the latter game marking the resumption of the Premier League campaign on December 26 at Villa Park.
