Breaking- Trent Alexander Arnold To Miss Manchester United Clash

According to the latest reports, Liverpool has confirmed that English right back Trent Alexander Arnold will miss the crunch fixture against Manchester United this Sunday.

Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool currently sits at the top of the Premier League table but the German boss has some headaches concerning his side ahead of Manchester United’s visit to Anfield on Sunday.

Liverpool comes off the back of a dramatic Champions League midweek game against Napoli when the Reds beat the Italian outfit to progress to the Round of 16 in the elite tournament. But Liverpool will feel the heat when they face Manchester United this weekend with a thin lined defense as young right back Trent Alexander Arnold joins the injury list along with Joel Matip and Joe Gomez.

Cameroonian international Joel Matip suffered a fractured collarbone against Napoli but latest reports have confirmed that even 20-year-old full back Trent Alexander Arnold has suffered an ankle problem in the victory over the Serie A side on Tuesday.

This injury to Alexander Arnold could not have come at a worse time for Jurgen Klopp who even lost Joe Gomez earlier on this month as the English central defender will miss the remainder of the year. Now, even Alexander Arnold is set to miss out on a few weeks as he will remain sidelined, unable to take the pitch.

Alexander Arnold faces a race against fitness to ensure that he is available for the busy festive period in December. Klopp now has only two fit, senior center backs in the form of Van Dijk and Dejan Lovren. James Milner is most likely to deputize for Alexander Arnold at right back against Manchester United.

The 33-year-old Englishman did slot in at right-back during Liverpool’s 4-0 win against Bournemouth. Nathaniel Clyne would be another option but the 28-year-old has lacked regular football and he too has just come off a fresh injury of his own.

Klopp needs to address this issue of defenders as Liverpool could slip at a very crucial juncture in the race for the Premier League title. Maybe Klopp could bring in Fabinho as a makeshift defender for the busy period as the former Monaco man has played in that position before in Ligue 1.
