Trent Alexander Arnold is full of eagerness and anticipation for the upcoming Premier League campaign, expressed the highly-rated Liverpool FC right-back in a recent interview to the club’s website, liverpoolfc.com.
The 2019-20 campaign was a monumental one for the Anfield giants as it saw them lift the Premier League trophy after a barren run of 30 long years. Arnold’s impact on the pitch was a major factor behind Liverpool FC’s title-winning run. He racked up 13 assists and scored four goals, besides being a rock-solid part of the colossal Reds’ backline.
And now the young Scouser has voiced hope of replicating his last season’s run of form in the upcoming campaign for Jurgen Klopp’s side as well. Arnold outlined his intention of playing as many minutes on the pitch as possible and steering clear of any potential injury issues.
“Obviously I’m enthusiastic and eager to play every game that I can. It’s not in my hands whether I do play or I don’t, I’m just always trying to be available to play, be as fit as possible, make sure I recover right and make sure I’m ready if I am told to play.
“I have played a few games over the last few years, so it’s about maintaining those levels and trying to make sure I stay injury-free and keep pushing on.”
Arnold’s fantastic series of displays over the course of last season were duly acknowledged by his peers and the general public, with the English international was honored with the PFA Young Player of the Year for 2019-20.
The 21-year old defender is tipped to start Liverpool FC’s opening fixture in the 2020-21 Premier League season against Leeds United over the weekend. The Whites visit Anfield in what would be the club’s first top-flight game in nearly 16 years on Saturday afternoon.
