Trent Alexander-Arnold’s hamstring injury could sideline him for a number of weeks in a blow to Liverpool heading into the business end of the campaign.
The England international has been one of the top performers for Jurgen Klopp’s Merseysiders who moved just a point adrift of the league leaders Manchester City with a 2-0 win away at Arsenal midweek.
Arnold, however, faces a spell on the sidelines with a hamstring problem, confirmed the Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp in his pre-match press conference ahead of his side facing Nottingham Forest in the FA Cup quarter-final on Sunday.
“Trent is out with a hamstring, so he cannot be part of England too.
“Of course to replace Trent is difficult but possible.
“I don’t know any player who plays like Trent, so its difficult to find a one-to-one replacement.
“We have Milly [Milner], Joe, theoretically we can change the system as well, these kind of things. So we have a couple of options.
“When you look in the past when Milly has had to step up he has done incredibly well. And if not maybe we have a young solution.”
The Liverpool full-back would also be in line to sit out international duty with The Three Lions for later this month while Klopp would be hoping for Arnold’s earlier than expected return to the Anfield fold.
