Virgil van Dijk admits he doesn’t watch Manchester City’s games

Liverpool defender Virgil van Dijk insists Liverpool has nothing to lose in the Premier League title race and also admits that he doesn’t watch any of Man City’s games.

The Dutch international hasn’t been at his best this season for Liverpool and was guilty of another mistake while on international duty.  Virgil van Dijk misjudged the flight of a cross against Belarus, which subsequently led to a goal.

But at his best the defender is a force to reckon with, He played a massive role in Liverpool securing their sixth European cup in May, and will be desperate to keep out enough goals to help their Reds claim their first domestic title in three decades

And van Dijk is now determined to end Liverpool’s 30-year wait for the Premier League title this season after missing out on the title by just a single point last season to Pep Guardiola’s men

‘I don’t watch Man City’s games but I have family and friends who text me or say something, especially after the Wolves game [when City lost 2-0],’ Van Dijk told Sky Sports.

That’s just part of life but we’ve learned from last year that we don’t have to look to the others until the end of the campaign. So far, we have been doing well but Man City is definitely not going away.

‘I don’t think we have anything to lose. Man City are the champions, they’re defending their title and we want to get it. In my point of view, we just have to go for it.

Liverpool currently has an eight-point gap over City at the top of the Premier League table.
