Success on the road in London continued for the Premier League holders over the weekend as Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool FC enjoyed a brilliant display of attacking football to snatch a 3-1 win over West Ham United.
Last week’s victory over Tottenham Hotspurs had given the Merseysiders some much-needed confidence heading into the London Stadium showdown and Klopp’s men ensured the confidence booster shot did not go in vain, with the win over the Hammers taking the Reds to third in the top-flight standings.

Both teams got off to a lively start in East London but it was Liverpool FC who recorded the first shot on target when Divock Origi’s ambitious effort went just wide of the West Ham goal.
An attack from the Hammers had the makeshift Liverpool FC backline scrambling and James Milner to had to get in the way of Pablo Fornals’s strike to prevent it from getting Alisson Becker into the action.
On the other end of the pitch, Xherdan Shaqiri had a try on goal, only for the in-form West Ham defender Craig Dawson to put out a brave block to defy the Swiss attacker.
Going into half time, feeble efforts were on show from both sides and the Reds sought to regain attacking momentum upon the start of the proceedings in the final 45 minutes.
Bringing on Curtis Jones around the half-hour mark for James Milner worked wonders for Klopp as the Liverpool FC academy graduate’s role in the build-up play to the opening goal was highly pivotal.
Jones opened up the attack for his side and teed up Salah, whose superb curling effort left West Ham goalie Fabianski helpless as the visitors took the lead.
A stupendous counter-attacking display from Liverpool FC soon ensured a second goal for the Merseysiders, with Trent Alexander-Arnold and Shaqiri playing a massive part in helping Salah get his second goal of the evening, with the latter’s finish being equally applaudable.
Firmino’s coming off the bench immediately saw the Brazillian forward register an assist as Gini Wijnaldum found space to slot an easy finish past Fabianski.

A late consolation for the hosts came in the form of Dawson guiding the ball into the back of Alisson Becker’s net following a corner but the three points were eventually secured by Liverpool FC and Klopp’s side ended the first month of the new calendar year on a high.
