West Ham United express interest in signing Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain

The Hammers have emerged as contenders to land the signature of Liverpool outcast Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain in the summer with the London outfit registering their interest in the former Arsenal man.

Reports from Football Insider claim that Oxlade-Chamberlain is a target for David Moyes’s side who have made third-party contact for the 27-year-old who faces an uncertain future at Anfield beyond the summer window.

Lack of minutes for Liverpool could force Chamberlain’s exit

The England international has clocked up just 277 minutes of first-team football over the course of this season in the Liverpool shirt with Chamberlain suffering from a couple of lengthy injury issues coupled with lack of impact when given time on the pitch.

West Ham’s interest in his services could coax the midfielder to seek an exit and secure a move to the London Stadium where he would be given an extended role in the first-team plans under David Moyes’ charge.

Will Jurgen Klopp sanction another midfielder’s sale?

The Reds are already resigned to losing out on Gini Wijnaldum who has refused to put pen to paper on a new deal at Anfield and looks certain to sign for long-term suitors FC Barcelona ahead of the next season.

It remains to be seen whether the gaffer Jurgen Klopp is willing to part ways with Chamberlain as well if West Ham amp up their approach for the out-of-favour Englishman who seems desperate for a prolonged stretch of gametime.
