West Ham United are understood to be lining up a move for Liverpool first-team outcast Nat Phillips in the forthcoming January transfer window.
According to reports from Football Insider, it is claimed that on the back of losing star central defender Angelo Ogbonna for the remainder of the campaign to a long-term ACL injury, David Moyes will look to bring in a fresh face.
Phillips has fallen down the pecking order at Anfield since the return of Virgil van Dijk and Joe Matip from last season’s injury layoffs and Ibrahima Konate’s signing has further added to Phillips being marginalised in the Liverpool camp.
It is suggested that the 24-year-old Phillips is on the shopping list of centre-back targets at the London Stadium come January when the transfer window reopens and Moyes is backed to bolster his defensive roster.
The Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp could be willing to entertain offers for Phillips who is unlikely to secure a first-team berth for the German in what remains of this season.
