Who is Bobby Duncan?

The 18-year old Liverpool forward has been in the news this week after he claimed yesterday via his representatives that the Reds have bullied him and damaged his mental health, his agent criticized the conduct of Liverpool sporting director Michael Edwards and later became embroiled in a war of words with Reds legend Jamie Carragher on Twitter.

“It’s a sad state of affairs that a club such as a Liverpool can be allowed to get away with mentally bullying and destroying the life of a young man such as Bobby,” said Rubie in part of the statement.

The teenager then broke his silence by tweeting saying that he just wants to play football. The Reds remain keen to keep Duncan and the 18-year-old, who is the cousin of Steven Gerrard, is under contract for another season at the club with whom he signed last summer, having arrived from Manchester City for a compensation fee of around £200,000.

Jurgen Klopp has shown a willingness to give young players a chance at Liverpool. 20-year-old Trent Alexander-Arnold has established himself in the Liverpool team after coming from the youth setup. Rhian Brewster will most likely be given an opportunity this season after having suffering various injuries last season. Bobby Duncan who has been linked with a transfer to Dortmund will need to be patient and work hard if he is going to find a place in the Liverpool squad.
