Liverpool have received another major blow as left-back Andy Robertson limped off injured during Scotland’s recent friendly game against Northern Ireland.
The defender twisted his ankle and continued to play but was subbed off later in the first-half. Conor Bradley took his place and eventually scored the equaliser in the second half.
Robertson’s head was buried in his shirt as he was seen frustrated by the unfortunate injury. The player’s injury will be accessed once he returns to the club.
Scottish manager Steve Clark is hopeful that this is not a serious injury since the Euros is just 11 weeks away and the country needs their best players to be fit.
As quoted by Sky Sports, he said:
“He’s just come off the pitch, let the injury take its course. He’ll go back to his club and they’ll assess it and hopefully it’s not too serious.”
It has been a rather frustrating season for Robertson since he has already missed up to 18 games due to a harmstring injury.
The 30-year-old might miss the upcoming clash against Brighton and Hove Albion. Kostas Tsimikas or Joe Gomez could be given the nod to play in defense if the veteran star fails to make it to the starting XI.
Jurgen Klopp’s side are in the most important phase of this season and it’s very crucial to have all the players available.

This is just another example of international tournaments making things difficult for the clubs. The rigorous schedule has affected the fitness of several players who are working hard to be at their best for the club.
It remains to be seen whether Robertson can end this season on a high and lift a silverware in what is Klopp’s final season in charge of the Reds.
We hope that this is not a serious injury and the scans will go easy on the player. Klopp will be giving an update on this issue in the pre-match conference before the Brighton game.
Gomes has played in the past few games in the same but has been ineffective in terms of his contributions in attack.
