Liverpool supporters would be harbouring expectations from their side to spend big on new signings in the upcoming January transfer window to bolster the squad midway through the campaign.
Jurgen Klopp’s men have been far from their brilliant best this season with the Reds sitting outside the top four amid the ongoing World Cup break which provides Klopp with ample time to scout the market for fresh faces.
Here are 5 players we believe could be the perfect January window signing at Anfield –Â
1. Jude Bellingham
Too ambitious would be Liverpool should they make an approach to sign one of the most promising names in world football – the Borussia Dortmund midfield talent Jude Bellingham.
While speculation suggests that the England midfielder is in line to be a top name on the shopping list for the Reds in next summer’s transfer window, Jurgen Klopp is said to be pushing for Bellingham’s signature sooner.
Bellingham is surely not short of big-name suitors in the market with the likes of Real Madrid and Manchester City also in the fray alongside Klopp’s Liverpool for the teenage maestro who is putting up a great run of displays at the World Cup in Qatar.
2. Dusan Vlahovic
A new name to have been linked with a move to Merseyside is Juventus dangerman Dusan Vlahovic who signed for the Turin outfit only in January 2022.
The Serbian international has endured a mixed bag of fortunes since arriving in Italy for a big price tag and there are rumours that Juventus could be open to parting ways with him when the transfer window reopens for business in the New Year.
3. Bruno Guimaraes
Jurgen Klopp’s Reds remain very much in the market to strengthen their underwhelming midfield roster and one player who has caught their attention is the Newcastle United playmaker Bruno Guimaraes.
He signed for Newcastle in a £33 million deal from French side Lyon last January and the Brazilian midfielder has made a sizeable impact at St James’ Park with his consistent showings in the centre of the park as Eddie Howe’s men mount an impressive challenge for a top-four finish in this campaign.
4. Matheus Nunes
The Portugal international Nunes was heavily linked with a move to Liverpool before he agreed on terms with Wolves this summer as Jurgen Klopp decided to look elsewhere for alternatives.

Nunes signed for the Midlands outfit from Sporting Lisbon in a club-record transfer and is contracted to Wolves until 2027; however, this has not put off Liverpool and Manchester City with an interest in moving in for the midfielder’s services.
5. Josko Gvardiol
A surprise name in this list would be the highly-rated Croatia defender Josko Gvardiol whose future in the RB Leipzig shirt is subject to much speculation amid some of the biggest clubs in England keeping tabs on him.
Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur have been linked with the 20-year-old centre-back but having previously revealed his admiration for Liverpool, the Reds could find themselves battling intense competition with their Premier League rivals should they want to make an offer.
