Wolves boss Nuno Espírito Santo has opened up on the sale of Diogo Jota to Liverpool FC this summer, saying that the 23-year old represents a perfect signing for the Premier League champions.
According to Tribal Football reports, Nuno was magnanimous in his praise for Jota’s ability and touted him to become a big player for Jurgen Klopp’s title-winning side in the future.
“We didn’t lose Jota. He had a fantastic three years at Wolves. With maximum performance and extraordinary dedication.
“Naturally, these things happen in football. Diogo went to Liverpool. I think it was for a great club and for a philosophy where I think he fits.
“I believe that Jurgen Klopp will continue to get the best out of Diogo. What we wish for him is the best.
The Portuguese international signed a reported five-year-long agreement with the Anfield giants after his name propped up as a surprise candidate for the club’s third signing of the summer transfer window. Previously, Liverpool FC had been speculated to be monitoring the availability of Watford’s Ismaila Sarr, however, were put off by the Hornet’s asking price for the Senegalese.
Instead, Jota’s singing was finalized within a very short time frame, and the 23-year old arrived at Melwood with a beaming smile to sign on with his new side, merely 24 hours after Thiago Alcantara completed his switch to Liverpool FC.
