Liverpool seal Diogo Jota’s signing on a reported five-year deal

Diogo Jota’s move to Liverpool FC has been confirmed and the forward will sign a five-year deal with the Merseyside club, according to an official press release by the Premier League champions.

The 23-year old Jota joins the Anfield outfit from fellow Premier League side Wolves for a fee reported to be in the region of £41 million. Over the course of his three-year-long stint at the Molineux Stadium, the Portuguese international featured in 131 competitive games and found the back of the net 44 times.

Jota becomes Liverpool FC’s second summer signing in quick succession following the arrival of long-term target Thiago Alcantara at Anfield just a day prior to the ex-Wolves star penning a deal with Jurgen Klopp’s side.

A decision to sign the forward rests upon Klopp’s mindset to further strengthen his last season’s Premier League title-winning squad and at the same time bring in substantial and much-needed cover for the attacking trio of Firmino, Mane, and Salah, all of whom have featured relentlessly for Liverpool FC across all club competitions in recent years.
