Burnley boss Sean Dyche eyeing a summer swoop for Liverpool’s in-form man Nat Phillips

Liverpool’s highly-rated defensive talent Nat Phillips has found another admirer in Burnley gaffer Sean Dyche who is looking to make a move for the centre-back in the summer transfer window.

Reports from The Sun claim that Burnley are looking to provide tough competition to fellow Premier League side Newcastle United for landing the signature of the Liverpool man who played 17 times in the Premier League this past season.

Phillips shone for Liverpool in the backend of the 2020-21 campaign as a first-team regular with injuries sidelining the likes of Virgil van Dijk, Joe Gomez and Joel Matip for the entirety of the top-flight season.

The 24-year-old earned plaudits for his solid displays at the back which helped Jurgen Klopp’s side seal a Champions League berth for the upcoming season but talk of Phillips falling down the pecking order with Ibrahim Konate’s arrival at Anfield has gained ground of late.

Klopp has ensured another defensive signing for his side after the injury troubles last time around with the highly-promising France U21 international Konate arriving in a long-term deal.
