Liverpool have been handed a major blow in their pursuit of long-term target Florian Neuhaus with the German midfielder looking set to sign for Bayern Munich a summer in advance.
Reports from German publication BILD claim that the Bundesliga champions have already put into action an agreement that will allow them to sign the highly-rated player in 2022.
Neuhaus enjoyed a superb campaign with his side Borussia Mönchengladbach this time around as he chipped in with six goals and five assists across his 33 outings in Bundesliga action.
The Reds had been looking at Neuhaus for quite some time now with Gini Wijandlum’s Anfield exit looming large on Jurgen Klopp’s plans for the ongoing summer transfer window and the Liverpool boss will now have a task to do in finding a replacement for the soon-to-be FC Barcelona man.
Brighton’s Yves Bissouma is one name that has done the rounds around Merseyside since the turn of the year with the Mali international understood to be high on Klopp’s shopping list for the summer in order to add to his midfield options.
