Burnley and Brighton frontrunners to sign Liverpool centre-back Nat Phillips

Premier League duo Burnley and Brighton are leading the line to land the signature of the in-demand Liverpool defender Nat Phillips who is backed to leave Anfield ahead of the next season.

Phillips’ was a breakout star on Merseyside last season and his consistent run of solid displays at the back were pivotal for Liverpool’s clinching of a top-four finish on the final day of play in top-flight action.

With Jurgen Klopp making his first purchase of the summer transfer window in Ibrahima Konate, there has been speculation that the Liverpool boss will be open to sanctioning the sale of the 24-year-old Phillips who will be way down the pecking order upon the return of the injured trio Van Dijk, Matip and Gomez from injuries.

Reports from Goal claim that Sean Dyche’s Burnley and Graham Potter’s Brighton are favoured candidates to add Phillips to their ranks with Newcastle United and Southampton also amongst the clubs wanting to sign the central defender.

Phillips is understood to be seeking regular first-team football and considering his exploits in the Liverpool shirt last season, there are bound to be a number of sides in line for his signature this summer.
