Liverpool in constant talks for the signature of PSV’s Donyell Malen

Liverpool’s sporting director Michael Edwards has been in touch with Mino Raiola to have a lay of the land over the possibility of signing the in-demand Dutch forward Donyell Malen this summer.

Malen has been linked with an exit from PSV ahead of the start of the next season on the back of his prolific goalscoring spell for the Holland outfit across the 2020-21 campaign where the striker found the back of the net 22 times.

Reports from Liverpool Echo suggest that the Anfield camp have registered their interest in the PSV man and it is Michael Edwards who has been tasked with touching base with Raiola for any potential agreement.

Jurgen Klopp is understood to be scouting the transfer market for a new forward player to add to his ranks with speculation over the futures of fringe duo Xherdan Shaqiri and Divock Origi at Anfield beyond the summer window currently underway.

Moreover, the imminent loss of star pairing Mohammad Salah and Sadio Mane this January owing to the Africa Cup of Nations commitments means that Klopp will need to ensure his side has enough firepower up top on the pitch during the crucial domestic period upon the turn of the year.
