Lazio poised to secure Xherdan Shaqiri’s signing following the UEFA Euros

Xherdan Shaqiri could be on his way out of Anfield following the conclusion of the UEFA Euros with Serie A side Lazio making their move in reaching out to Liverpool for the player’s signature.

The Swiss international has been heavily tipped to call it quits on Merseyside in this summer’s transfer window on the back of the limited first-team football that has come his way these past couple of seasons.

Reports from Italian news outlet TuttoMercatoWeb claim that Lazio have reached out to Jurgen Klopp’s side over a deal for Shaqiri and hope to conclude the agreement in the aftermath of the European Championships which are currently underway.

Shaqiri has courted considerable interest from abroad heading into the new season, more notably from the Serie A where besides Lazio, AS Roma and Inter Milan are also believed to be interested in signing the former Stoke City forward.

The Italians could be in line to propose a season-long loan offer for the Liverpool man with both the player and the club hopeful of concluding the transfer business in time for the start of the 2021-22 campaign that is scheduled for August.
